The government opens a platform for comments on the 176 measures it has already approved
The state platform Soberanía on Tuesday opened a citizen participation section to browse and comment on the 176 economic and social transformations already approved. Diario de Cuba notes that it is not explained what citizens will be able to change or how those without electricity or an internet connection will take part.
The Soberanía digital platform, the Cuban state's single window for paperwork, has added a citizen participation service that allows users to browse the 176 transformations by number, keyword or subject area, post comments and later edit them, at participacion.soberania.gob.cu, according to Cubadebate.
Wilfredo González Vidal, director general of the Digital Government Centre, told a press conference that the service was built by specialists at that institution together with the government leadership, and said no digital ID will be needed to take part, “so as to make access easier for everyone interested.”
The comments will be processed with a management system that will identify trends, show which issues raise the most doubts and produce reports for those responsible for economic and social policy, with statistics and differences in perception between provinces and municipalities, according to the same state outlet.
Diario de Cuba sums up the objection: the government is opening the platform for comments on 176 measures it has already approved, without explaining what citizens will be able to change or how those without electricity or a connection will take part.
